Voting for Tyranny

In the first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump one thing became clear- neither is right for occupying the White House.How can either be the right choice when both oppose the Constitution? How can they take the oath to office without the Bible bursting into flames?

Hillary made a remark supporting the idea that people on no fly lists should not be able to purchase a gun. She attacked and repudiated the 2nd Amendment and the 5th Amendment to our Constitution with that simple statement. Then Trump agreed with her.

Understand what is at stake. They both agree that a secret list compiled by someone in government is enough to eliminate your right to keep and bear arms. We have this ideal in America that due process is important. That to circumscribe someone’s rights there is a process in place that must be followed to insure that our rights are protected.The 5th Amendment covers this explicitly.

“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

How can the government legally determine that a person’s rights are negated without due process? It is the law of the land! How can they ignore that?

The government was NEVER tasked with determining if someone is guilty of a crime. That is why we have juries. Article 2 of the Constitution, the 5th, 6th and 7th Amendments all describe rights which we as Americans have that the government cannot ignore or infringe upon. A trial by jury is an inherent right under Common law and our Constitution. It is very simple. Government was never trusted to convict a citizen. That right was reserved for fellow Americans.

The 2nd Amendment is equally as clear. It states that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It doesn’t give us that right. Our rights come from our creator and our government was instituted to protect our rights. It merely states one of our inalienable rights which the government cannot infringe.

I don’t know about you but to me the Bill of Rights is very important. Taking a position against anything contained in them is a deal breaker. If you feel the need to vote for Trump or Clinton, realize that you vote against the 2nd Amendment. You also encourage and support the ever increasing police state in which we live. This is not the path toward liberty. It is the status quo which is an ever increasingly large government whose unconstitutional interference into our daily lives escalates everyday. Say no to this insanity. Do not vote for either of these two charlatans. You nation depends on you to make the right decision.

We Hold These Truths

Contrary to popular belief, the Bill of Rights does NOT give us any rights. Our rights do not come from government. Our rights are not given to us by our fellow man. Our rights come from our Creator. This was a founding principle of our country and seems to have been forgotten by many. “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain INALIENABLE rights……” This was one of the revolutionary ideas that have propelled us into a leading role for liberty on this planet.

This is not semantics. This is the basis for many attacks on our rights and must be corrected. Take guns for instance- it is much easier for the gun grabbers to cite our 2nd Amendment rights than to say they want to infringe on our inalienable right to self defense. Instead of saying they want to restrict our God given rights, they take the position that they are merely “interpreting” a 200+ year old statement about guns. Or they say that the founders couldn’t imagine the progress we have made in firearms technology and we need “common sense” gun regulations. Or even more ludicrous that the rights given to us by the Constitution have limitations and are subject to the interpretations of some politically connected lawyers who wear black robes and sit in a fancy courtroom in Washington DC. All poppycock. The right to self defense is linked to the right to life and your unfettered ability to protect that life. Without that any other right you may possess is moot. Doesn’t matter that you have freedom of speech if you are dead. Goes for any other rights also. That is why the right to life is always listed at the top and why protecting that right is the most important.

So what does the Bill of Rights do? What is its purpose? Pretty much nothing other than to be a sentinel for the people indicating when government has exceeded its authority and is becoming tyrannical. It is a snapshot of some of our inalienable rights that government has NO authority to infringe upon. These rights we recognize have been fought for for over 900 years. Look up the 1100 Charter of Liberties. The Magna Carte. The Petition of Right of 1628. The Glorious Revolution and the Bill of Rights of 1689. These were all seminal moments in the pursuit of liberty. Our Bill of Rights and the thought that our rights are inalienable didn’t just occur. It was however boldly trumpeted by the colonists when they declared independence and it was codified into our Constitution.

So next time you see someone saying that our 2nd Amendment right to carry guns is being attacked or that our 1st Amendment right to free speech is under assault, just remind them where our rights come from. We used to understand that our rights are inalienable and are not granted by government but are supposed to be protected by government. It boggles the mind to think that this lesson is too hard to understand or if pointed out will be disputed. Get educated. Get active. Liberty is calling and wants to know if you are for or against her. Freedom is not free and is not a spectator sport. It requires action on your part. A piece of paper will not protect your rights. Only true Americans can do that.

Are you really American? 500 Words or Less

What is it that makes a person a true American? Is it being born on US soil? Is it waving the American flag and voting in elections? Is it eating apple pie and watching baseball? What is it that makes a person truly American?

I say it is upholding and defending the Constitution of the Unites States of America. Understanding that we the people are in charge of our own lives and that government was instituted to protect our rights. It is understanding that our rights do not come from other men or government but from our creator. It is realizing that the liberty we have created in this country is the MOST precious gift we leave to future generations. It is understanding that the only reason our country has been as free and prosperous a nation as we have been is due almost exclusively to the Constitution and the ideals it espouses. The Bill of Rights is our inheritance and we must bequeath it unharmed to future generations.

Being a true American is about defending the principles of the Constitution from attack and perversion. Being a True American is realizing that government has a role in our lives but presently is the cause of most of our problems as a nation.Being a true American is actively fighting the forces which are attacking the foundations of our republic. We now have avowed socialists, communists and their adoring ignorant sycophants in our society who are doing everything in their power to destroy the Constitution, attack American traditions and history,  and tear down the traditional institutions which have made us a prosperous nation. They are the enemies of freedom and liberty and need to be treated as such. The parchment of the Constitution is NOT enough to protect us from tyranny. It takes people defending those values and passing them on which will keep us free.

Get educated. Get involved. Speak and defend the truth. You will make enemies but more importantly you will attract liberty loving friends. You cannot rely on others to fight this for you. YOU must get involved. I will not belabor the point but will leave you with a quote which has the solution within.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing“.

It’s All About Liberty- Time for Americans to Act Like Americans Again

The only reason that we have been such a prosperous and free nation as we have experienced is because of the Constitution of the United States of America. As we move away from those ideals we see the results. Prosperity has been replaced with poverty. Freedom with dependence.

The solution is an easy one. Getting people to listen is the hard part. Too many snake oil salesmen over the years have burned too many. Pledges from both political parties have been broken too many times for them to be believed. It is time that the American people wake up and realize that it is they who will turn this country around- not politicians. If you think that the presidential election is going to change anything then you are lying to yourself. Washington needs to abide by the Constitution. It will never do that on its own.

Understand that our federal government is way out of control. Thanks to a many years of prosperity and people disengaging from the political process the incremental takeover of our government is nearing completion.

Woodrow Wilson really started the push for what we see today with the 16th Amendment (taxation), the 17th Amendment (direct election of Senators) and the creation of the federal reserve. The idea that administration needed to be separated from politics began under Wilson and is what we see today in Washington DC- A multitude of agencies that are ever increasingly controlling the day to day lives of all American. That is NOT the purpose of our government. No regulation without representation.

There are many ideals that this country was founded upon. Three ideas stand at the top. They are the reasons for the success of this country. They were revolutionary to many when introduced, eventually became the benchmark for liberty, and are currently under attack.

Our rights come from our Creator. We do not get rights from other men. We do not get rights from government. Our rights are inherent. Our rights are inalienable. They come from our creator. Government doesn’t give them to us nor can they take them away.

To secure our rights we form governments. That is the ONLY reason we tolerate government. Governments are historically THE biggest violators of human rights but they are also needed to form societies that can protect their people’s interests. The federal government we formed was one of specific enumerated powers. These can be found in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. REALLY simple to understand. Once read you can see for yourself how far off of the constitutional path we have veered.

Government derive their just power from the consent of the governed. No one is born to be king. No one is ordained to be a leader of the people. The people decide who their leaders are going to be. Kings and monarchs do not lead toward liberty. Every form of government can be plagued by bad leadership and a republic is no different.  The difference is in our republic those choices come from the people. We are responsible for our future.

And when I say Constitution, I mean in no small part the Bill of Rights. The first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. The sentinel of our liberty. Those 10 amendments  which were not part of the original Constitution but were ratified 2 years after the fact. Those 10 little things which DO absolutely nothing but let us know when government is intruding into unwanted areas.  No rights are given by the Bill of Rights. The rights which were are enumerated are already ours. Remember from where our rights come.

If you are serious about doing something then take the time to get educated. At a bare minimum reread the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Those are the blueprint and proposal for what our country is all about. Neither will take more than an hour to read. They are the basis from where all arguments originate.

When the Declaration of Independence was written, a couple million people read it. When the Constitution was being ratified,most every American had read it so they could be relevant in the overwhelming conversation of the day. Both of these documents were written for the layman and have a clear and easily discernible meaning. No need to get lawyers involved.

It is time to reinvigorate these documents and unabashedly support and defend them once again. It is time people realize that the solutions to most problems we see today are contained in those two short documents. Stop being dependent on others to tell you what is right and proper. That is the reason we are at the precipice we are. Learn once again what it is to be an American. Freedom is not free. Liberty must be fought for.
