The Cornerstone of Liberty

Their is a trend that has been gaining momentum over the last few decades here in the United States that is directly leading to our demise. This movement has been successfully identified by many as a problem yet it continues. It is the basis for many of the challenges we face as a nation and it is a planned attack on our republic. Of course I am talking about our education system and its perversion at the hands of the enemies of America.

George Washington, in his 8th Annual Message on December 7, 1796 said:

“[T]he common education of . . . our youth . . . well deserves attention. . . . and a primary object . . . should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic what species of knowledge can be equally important and what duty more pressing . . . than to patronize a plan for communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?”

No truer words have been spoken. For a republic to survive, the people who elect our representatives to government and who are supposed to monitor the workings of it must be educated on its proper form and powers. How else can the people elect the best candidate to office and ensure that government is performing the tasks it should be? Without knowing what our unalienable rights consist of, how can we the people insure they are not be trodden upon? Our ignorance of our Constitution and the founding principles of this nation are the foundation upon which adversaries of liberty are fundamentally transforming this nation.

The truth is a grim one. The Annenberg Public Policy Center performed a survey which should alarm Americans. Only 26% of the people surveyed could name the three branches of government. 33% of respondents could not name ANY branches of our federal government. This is the most basic of knowledge about our government and our Constitution. It is logical to assume that more complex information about the proper workings of Washington DC are lost on a huge majority of Americans. A republic cannot survive under such conditions.

Classes on government or our founding documents are harder and harder to find in schools nowadays. I have talked to local high school students who indicate that the time spent on the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are minimal and cursory. When I went to school I had multiple classes dealing with the subject matter at various grade levels. This non-education continues into the college levels also. Nowadays, plenty of law schools have scrubbed the Constitution from its curriculum and instead teach classes about constitutional law. Instead of learning the supreme law of the land, students memorize case law and the interpretations of the Supreme Court and think it is the law.

I can attest to the gross lack of knowledge possessed by people I interact with online and in person. Ignorance is bad enough but the apathy surrounding the topic is also exasperating. The discussion of the founding principles including the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights cannot occur with most people because of their dearth of knowledge on the subject matter. I suggest that this is a planned attack on our republic and that it is succeeding.

America is one of the strongest if not the strongest nation to ever grace the face of the earth. The idea of a military incursion into our country would be suicide for any who would take the action. We cannot be overthrown that way. The more likely approach would be for the enemies of America to adopt the long term strategy of eliminating the knowledge needed for our republic to survive and allow human nature to do the rest. That is where we find ourselves at as a nation.

What made our country the greatest ever was the principles it was founded upon. The ideas of unalienable rights, limited government, the consent of the governed, the idea that we the people can rule ourselves ad that we create government to secure our rights is a very powerful design in the defense of liberty. But these ideals must be maintained by the people and constant vigilance is our responsibility. Governments throughout history have been shown to be the biggest abusers of human rights to ever exist and always have a tendency to grow larger and more obtrusive. This is nothing new.

Without that vigilance by the people, our country is susceptible to the same forces which have destroyed other nations throughout history. A piece of paper with nice words on it is not enough to secure our liberty and prosperity. A great set of ideals fails when they are not defended and upheld. A proud heritage of freedom can be wiped out when the standards that created those conditions are abandoned. Through the planned attack on the philosophy that created our country, Americans are increasingly ignorant of the gifts we were given to us by our forefathers.  We move toward our demise in a zombie like trance with distractions galore to move us along the path.

I do not want to tell people what to think. I do however want to help educate them so they can make informed decisions. Knowledge is power and ignorance leads to servitude and poverty in this case. We were given the gift of liberty from our forefathers and now squander it away through ignorance and apathy. The truth about our founding principles and the documents associated with that founding must once again be embraced by Americans for us to remain a free and sovereign nation. There is no other cure for our affliction.

I have recently affiliated myself with an organization that has a well though out plan to combat the forces of ignorance destroying this country. Their name (and mission) is Restore the Intent. Their simple but thorough plan is to hold study groups in each county across these United States. What makes this idea unique is the teachings of KrisAnne Hall, a constitutional attorney and expert who travels around the United States lecturing about our founding principles, will be the nucleus of the education. Her curriculum, the Liberty First University series she developed and continually makes additions to, will be used as the core for the instruction into various topics.

I can tell you from personal experience, there is no one that I have seen who has KrisAnne Hall’s depth of knowledge, organizational skills, and thoroughness on the Constitution and the founding principles of this country. She consistently presents the unabashed truth and in the process instills knowledge and logic into our founding as a nation. She destroys the anti-American narrative that too many support nowadays. She is a true patriot and I am honored to pass on her teachings.

I urge you to look into Restore the Intent. You can sign up for classes in your area and when one opens up you will be notified. Another option is to be the host of a constitutional study group. If you are a patriot and see the value and necessity of teaching our founding principles then I urge you to sign up. You must possess an thorough knowledge of our Constitution and commit to holding regular sessions.

This is a great opportunity to learn/teach the truth that is so desperately needed right now in the United States of America. The enemies of freedom and well being are dumbing down America in the hopes of destroying this country. Once again embracing our heritage and the truth of our founding is our ONLY avenue for our long term success as a nation.

Calling All Conservatives- Your Republic Needs You!

The two party system has failed you. It is as simple as that. Looking at the history of our country it becomes apparent that we have altered our trajectory away from liberty and have instead embraced socialism. Many will be scoffing right now. I wish I could. But the evidence of our acceptance of socialist policies from our government is irrefutable.

Republicans and Democrats are supposed to be at opposite ends of our spectrum. Democrats are identified with the left and Republicans with the right. The truth is both parties have moved toward bigger more intrusive government. Both parties have participated in and supported ideas that go against our founding principles and our Constitution.

The monopoly presented by the two “major” parties is rooted in fear. Many are fearful of the other side. Because the other party is so repugnant, they would sacrifice principles just to make sure their opponents don’t get into power. They support their party, over principles, because of fear. There are plenty of conservatives in the Republican Party that have to feel this way. I know I did. I would guess there are many good democrats that refuse to vote for republicans because they also fear them. Or, just as likely, they support socialism and want the democrats to succeed.

As we look at today, it is an inescapable conclusion that we have been taken over from within. The enemies of America have almost unlimited money to do their work, and they have been spending that money freely. These enemies have strongholds in our government, our schools, the media and our entertainment industry. This has been a planned effort with the binding force being a common ideal. Socialism. We now have an increasing number of Americans who for the most part have no idea why we instituted our government or what a proper government looks like. Our Constitution is being ignored and no one bats an eye. Socialist ideas are the norm for society. Before you scoff, read on.

Here are some of the planks of the Communist manifesto and the corresponding actions we have taken. Here is the proof of my words.

Abolition of Private Property. Property taxes do exactly this. If you think you own your home or a piece of land, try not paying taxes on it for a few years and see who really owns it. This idea of property taxes is so ingrained in most people that to question it is bordering on insanity. “How will roads be paid for?” “How will schools operate?” Those questions and plenty of others have been drilled into the heads of Americans for decades. We now repeat them blindly and for many it is their truth.

The real truth, however, paints a different picture. Private property ownership is a representation of your life and what you did with it. Your life is your own, you are no slave. The products of your life are also yours and yours alone. No one has any claim to that. Instead we now repeat the mantra of “how will government operate without property taxes?”. That is a good question to ask yourself. The answer will lead you back toward liberty.

A heavy progressive or graduated tax. Won’t have to talk about this for long. The IRS is known to almost everyone. What isn’t known by as many is that the income tax and IRS were only around since 1913, instituted during the Wilson administration. We had a prosperous and growing country without the need of these taxes. We had won many wars, had plenty of roads, enough government buildings, schools and the like. We had an functioning society without the federal government taxing us.

Abolition of rights of inheritance. Inheritance taxes. The privilege of dying now costs you. It has for a while. This was accomplished by class envy and the idea of “taxing the rich”. This is also another attack into private property ownership. The fools who supported this idea played right into the hands of the socialists.

Centralization of credit in the hands of the state. The Federal Reserve is the answer here. Also created under the Wilson administration, (what a bad time for future Americans we witnessed during his term) this unconstitutional legislation which passed and made a national currency under this private corporation. Congress is enumerated this power. The only way this could be legal is to change the Constitution and add an amendment. That has not happened yet we have this unholy monopoly controlling our nation’s monetary policy.

We got taken off the individual gold standard by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Not only that, all gold was confiscated and traded for federal reserve notes (Executive order 6102). Nixon eliminated the international gold standard under his watch which meant other countries could no longer redeem American dollars for gold. He instead made a deal with OPEC to make the dollar the only currency to be used to purchase their oil. Since that move, the value of the dollar has plummeted (estimates are as high as 90%!!!), and our military involvement in the middle east has skyrocketed.

The incessant introduction of new money and the paying of debts with newly printed money produces inflation which devalues the dollar. So does printing money and buying assets from the government, for instance bonds, with newly printed money. The money that is created out of thin air reduces the value of the dollars already in circulation. But enough of the economics lesson. You can read about this in many places.

Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state. This has been accomplished through many departments and agencies. The FCC, Department of Transportation, the Interstate Commerce Commission, and the Federal Aviation Administration are the answers to the socialist’s dreams. Add to the Amtrak, a blatantly socialist government owned and operated rail carrier, and the picture is complete.

And the kicker. Promoted by socialists for years and now a way of life in America. Something that we cannot live without it seems. Yes I am talking about schools.

“Free” education for all children in government schools. Yes, this is a socialist idea. Not the schools of course, but the government supervising operations. I put “free” in parenthesis because of course tax money, taken from people under duress, is what is funding these schools. Remember the IRS and property taxes? The Department of Education and the recent “Common Core” indoctrination are the evidence of the continuing infiltration by our federal government.

Guess who is responsible for this all coming to fruition? Republicans and Democrats of course. We are to believe that these parties oppose each other, and in some minor ways there is a difference, but when it comes to the socialist agenda they have been in lock step for decades.

An important note. All of what I have listed is not supported by the Constitution. The continued funding and support by our elected officials for any agency or department listed above represents a violation of their oath to office. Both parties have turned their backs on the Constitution quite a while ago. Though there are a few people who talk a good game, the fact remains that the unconstitutional bureaucratic state that was created has not been dismantled, on the contrary it continues to get larger no matter which party is in power.

Now my point. Conservatives, if you think that the republican party can somehow be swayed to be the savior of our country then you are not accepting fact. There are many conservatives, people who believe in the tenets of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, that are stuck in a party that no longer represents them or their principles. People who support the Constitution are outcasts. Lip service is given to the document of course but nothing is done to get us back to the ideals and structure it espouses.

If you really want to move the republican party back to conservative ideas, you must leave the republican party. That is right. Leave. The people who remain will be those who cast a vote because there is an “R” beside the name. They are going nowhere. Their fear of democrats is palpable and they will oppose democrats, i.e. vote republican, with sickening certainty. If enough conservatives leave then the republican party they will have to move back to the right to capture those votes.

There are also some great third parties out there also that could use support. The Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party and the Federalist Party are all good choices for the person who supports the Constitution and liberty. It is way past time that Americans stop supporting the uni-brow party (republicans and democrats) and instead stick to their principles and support parties that will actually represent them.

I understand the angst of leaving a major party. I did exactly that. This anxiety could originate for a myriad of reasons. Maybe the person has spent years working in the party. Maybe they have become prominent in those circles. Maybe they are making money staying put. The one thing they cannot admit is that the time that they have spent has been wasted because the principles they support are not representative of the party they have put their efforts behind. Fear is a powerful motivator, and properly harnessed can make people act in ways that they normally wouldn’t.

Then there are republicans who can point to a state representative, mayor, county commissioner or some other elected republican official that does support the Constitution. These elected officials are an aberration and not representative of the party they are part of. They are also a very small minority and are in no way a solution to the problems we face as a nation.

Our republic is dying. We have over a full generation that hasn’t been taught the greatness our nation has attained. They have not been taught the way our government is supposed to work and can not identify what a constitutional government would even look like. Government schools have done their job to make ignorant the public as a whole when it comes to civics. The enemies of America who have hijacked our schools have been very successful. This is also born out by facts.

A recent poll by the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public policy Center had some startling results:

1) Only 26% of people can name all three branches of the federal government.
2) 33% cannot name ANY branch of the federal government.
3) 37% of people could not name one right that is protected by the 1st Amendment.

This is sickening to me. A republic can only stand when its people are moral, educated and involved in their government. That involvement cannot end when elections do. Our scrutiny needs to be more severe after we elect our officials.

It is way past time that we relegate the two “major” parties to the scrapheap of history. it is time we have a 3rd, 4th and even 5th viable party that will actually represent its constituents. It is time we once again are educated on our founding principles and especially the Constitution of the United States of America.

Until we the people decide that it is our responsibility to make things right, then our government will continue down the path of our destruction. Make no mistake, our country is on the road to being dissolved. Our trajectory is unsustainable and unless the people take their rightful position as masters of our government then those who have hijacked it will lead us to ruin. We can start this process of healing by supporting parties that will champion our ideals. The alternative is the destruction of the United States of America. That is where we are heading if we continue to support socialism.

Political Correctness, Idiocy and the Attacks on Our republic

The attack on western institutions, traditions and values continues in this country unabated. These attacks are perpetuated by those traitors in our midst who, through the support of a sympathetic media and useful idiots (usually simply ignorant people) in our society, are looking to institute a socialist society here in the United States of America. The transformation is well on its way and continues under the cover of political correctness and just plain stupidity. Socialism is an enemy to freedom, liberty, and prosperity. History has proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt. On the other hand, a limited government instituted exclusively to protect the rights of the people has to been shown as the best way forward to freedom and prosperity. Political correctness, idiocy and a program of indoctrination is the culprit of our ongoing demise.

Let’s begin with the attacks on white “supremacists”. Supposedly hate is bad yet these are people you are allowed to hate. It is ok to hate these people because we are told they are evil. It is politically correct to hate these people because we are told to do so by the media and some of our leaders. We are allowed to espouse and perform violence against these people because of what they supposedly think. How are the thoughts of some people, devoid of any action, infringing on your rights? How does what a person believes injure anyone? It does not. It is political correctness devoid of any reason that is the culprit. It is a campaign to silence anyone who questions the orthodoxy of the left.

More people continue to wake up to this fact. As the insane attacks continue on those people who speak out against the socialist forces attacking our republic, more people are questioning the doctrines of the enemies of America. We used to believe in free speech and freedom of assembly. Now, some in our society have a higher calling – political correctness. This is how republics are destroyed. This is how rights are eliminated and tyranny triumphs.

Robert Lee is an announcer for ESPN who was pulled off the University of Virginia’s game due solely to his name. In a surrender to political correctness, ESPN has taken this step to avoid offending anyone who will be watching the game. An ESPN spokesperson justified the removal of Lee from the announcers spot because ESPN executives “collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding.” More political correctness at work. Again, more pandering to the lowest common denominators of society and those that perpetuate the redefining of America.

Speaking of Charlottesville, it has become known that the attacks on those who were opposing the removal of the Lee statue were perpetuated by government forces who were opposed to the rally in the first place. Did you know that the protestors were denied their constitutionally protected right to peaceably assemble by the Charlottesville government and only through an injunction issued by District Court Judge, Glen Cochran, were the people opposing the removal of the statue allowed to protest and exercise their constitutionally protected rights? The left initiated violence, the police called the assembly “illegal”, withdrew and allowed the violence to escalate. The political correctness movement lead to violence once again.

Political correctness is behind the removal of these confederate statues also.  In my latest article, Civil War Truths, I expose the lie that the War for Southern Independence, a.k.a. The Civil War, was about slavery. It was about economic subjugation by the North. Yet the false narrative of slavery leads to labeling anyone who wants to protect southern heritage and the truth as white “supremacists”, “nationalists”  or the overused term “racists”. This is just more opposition to free speech under the guise of political correctness and a denial of the truth.

Our government continues to bankrupt our nation via the unconstitutional Federal Reserve and illegal expenditures. They continue to support unlawful aggression across the globe under the guise of American safety and being the world’s policeman. Our children continue to be indoctrinated with socialist dogma in our schools. Our federal government completely ignores the law of the land and issues edict after edict under the facade of the Constitution and “helping” Americans. Our government continues to redesign society through its detrimental immigration policies, and on all levels continues to grow and raises taxes to confiscatory levels to pay for that growth. We are traveling down the road to the destruction of our republic and the gift of liberty given to us by previous generations. The only thing that concerns most are trivial matters. It is no wonder our liberties are being trampled and our country transforming into a socialist atrocity.

Make no mistake – without drastic changes to our path, we will see a bloody revolution in our near future. Americans who understand liberty, unalienable rights and the Constitution will only remain peaceful for so long. I do not advocate for violence as a solution, but I see no other alternative if the tenets of political correctness are our guides in this country while the traditional values, laws and ideals are scrapped. We were bequeathed the most precious gift one generation can give to another – liberty. Americans used to understand this. Now many Americans only understand the idea of political correctness and not offending anyone. The lessons we have learned as Americans are disappearing and are being replaced by socialist teachings. Government is the problem. They are not the solution. If Americans continue to be diverted by the inconsequential then we will continue our slide into mediocrity and irrelevance. Patriots, Awake!

People, It is Independence Day, not In Dependence Day

In 1776 a group of influential men got together to announce to the world that our colonies here in America had endured enough oppression and that we were announcing our independence from our “mother” country Great Britain. In this announcement we listed our principles for doing so, the offenses against us that drove us to this action, and a general plan for making it happen. These men put their their “Lives, Fortunes, and Sacred Honor” on the line so a people could fight to be free of their oppressors.

These were great men and the result of their commitment and their supporters actions is nothing less than a miracle- The United States of America. The land of the free and the home of the brave. Time to dust off that legacy and make it true once again. Time to understand the importance of the Declaration of Independence and why it is as relevant today as when it was written.

All Men Are Created Equal The principles our ancestors fought for ran counter to the powers that governed at the time. In an era of monarchs and tyrants, our Founders represented the thought that “all men were created equal” which means no person is born to rule over another. It means that an equality of opportunity not outcome was a right to be protected. It did not mean that men and women were all equally talented nor did it imply that equal outcomes are desirable. Freedom is not free, free men are not equal and equal men are not free.

They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights Another important concept was that our rights come from our creator, not from other people or from the government. Our rights are inalienable. They are a part of us and can never be removed. They can be trampled or ignored, or rightfully abridged by a jury, but that does not mean that we do not possess those rights. Specifically mentioned in the Declaration of Independence is the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.This simple list is unfortunately overlooked too often or not truly understood.

Life Life is the most important right a person possesses. If that right is taken away no others rights really matter. What does free speech mean to a dead person? The right to peaceably assemble? How about a jury trial for a corpse? All ludicrous. This idea of life is where the 2nd Amendment originates. Your life is your responsibility and protecting that life is also your responsibility. According to our beliefs you should be able to protect that life anyway you see fit, as long as it doesn’t infringe on another person’s rights.This leads naturally to the concept of liberty. No one else controls your life or can tell you what to do with that life.

Liberty Unlike freedom, liberty has the component of restricting action when it comes to violating another person’s rights. Your body and the actions you take with that body are for you and you alone to control, as long as those actions do not infringe on another person’s rights. No entity has the authority to tell you how to live your life in any way. Any restrictions from government that are put into place that impeded the free actions of a person who is hurting no one else is wrong and not supported by our founding principles. Anyone can voluntarily enter into agreements to make whatever deals they want to place restrictions on how they interact with others. But these restrictions must be voluntary and agreed to by all parties. Otherwise any contract between two consenting adults is perfectly fine and not subject to government interference.

And the pursuit of Happiness Putting life and liberty together creates a person’s pursuit of happiness. You utilize your body, take actions and interact in the world to do what you want to pursue happiness. This pursuit often leads to the creation or acquisition of property. Property used to be known as physical as well as intellectual property. The freedom of speech, of assembly, of the press all stem from this idea of intellectual property. The 4th Amendment is a protection of these rights. The 5th, 6th and 7th Amendments with their due process ideology also support this right to your pursuit of happiness and protection from arbitrary interference. It was a founding principle that your property was your own and no one including government had a right to take it without due process. Property taxes and income taxes were not condoned. Private property ownership and keeping the fruits of your labor were understood by all and acknowledged to be an integral part of a free nation.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men Realize that we create our own government. The reason we create this government is to secure our rights. Having rights is not enough. This is why we move away from the state of nature and anarchy. We want a structured society where the rights to life, liberty and property are recognized and defended. We the people can pursue our life secure in the knowledge that our rights are being protected from all that would infringe on them. This is the only reason we create government.

Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed Probably one of the least understood of our founding principles. The consent of the governed means more than having proper representation by elected officials. That is important but not the full extent of the meaning. It means that the power of the created government cannot never exceed the power of the individuals. If a person or a group of people do not possess a power over another person or item, then how can they bequeath a power they do not possess themselves? In the proper pursuits of government, we see the actions that individuals could take but instead delegate to a central authority. The local police and fire departments are examples of this concept. The Court system and dispensing of justice. Protection of our borders. Standardizing currency, weights and measures, and bankruptcy laws are some examples of proper government. These are activities and ideas that the people can and would rightfully do on their own if there were no government. The central determination of these standards is needed when sovereign entities interact.

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it The rest of the initial statement of the Declaration of Independence speaks of the right of the people to identify bad government and to change it however they see fit. it supports the idea that government is a mechanism, a construct that we the people create to secure our liberty and prosperity. When government deviates from that course, we the people can and should fix it. It is our duty.

In the finishing of the ideological introduction, the Declaration speaks to human nature and our tolerance for abuse. I will not comment. I will simply share it.

“ Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security”

This is a cursory look into the minds of early Americans about the kind of country we wanted to create. I realize that perfect societies do not exist nor is liberty ever fully realized. Both are concepts we constantly strive for but fall short of because of our nature. It is in that strife where liberty and prosperity can exist. More frequently nowadays there is no fight but capitulation by the populace. That is not liberty and will not lead to prosperity.

When did we lose our way? Why are we the people pursuing being In Dependence to the government instead of independent from them? Many people talk a strong game but when adversity hits or problems in society arise they are some of the first to ask “what is government going to do about it?”. Crime, pollution, infrastructure, food and medical regulations are some of the areas people demand government take an active role in.

Too many people have the erroneous belief that government is the solution. Government is the problem. Many of the difficulties and challenges we face as Americans today are results of government interference or malfeasance. Mostly are unconstitutional actions to boot. Yet all we get is more laws, new regulations and new agencies to combat (i.e. perpetuate) the outcomes of previous government interference. Why do we have tens of millions on food stamps if more government is the answer?

And to add salt to the wound and identify one of the true problems of our current government- most of these activities are not paid for by taxpayers, we are borrowing from future generations to sustain our current one. That topic gets the cursory “balanced budget” treatment and then quickly ignored. But I digress. Let’s look at today’s society from the perspective of the Declaration.

All Men Are Created Equal- Except those that are or have been oppressed. Or those who have challenges in life. Or are part of a protected class. All people need to be looked out for and it is the duty of government to make that happen. Taking money from some to support the lifestyle of others is now a responsibility that government has taken on. You are greedy or don’t care about the poor or if you oppose government redistribution of wealth. Everyone deserves a living wage.

They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights- Rights now include things such as food, clothing, shelter, “reproductive” rights, education and healthcare to name a few. Government defines our rights and they are the ones who tell us how much of a right is good. Peculiarly, most of the new “rights” cost a lot of money to make a reality.

Life- As long as you realize that you are a custodian of the state and they ultimately control your life and body. Your children must comply. You must comply. We will tell you to what extent you may protect your own life. We will tell how you must raise your child. Common Core. Vaccinations. We will tell you what food and what medicine is acceptable for you to use. We are from the government and are here to help you. Resistance is futile.

Liberty- Just remember that the state has strict rules above and beyond what infringes on another person’s rights. Where you can fish and hunt. Most private transactions between consenting adults- food sales, medical care, real estate, financial help, personal care, electrical work, pool work, veterinarian services, automobile repair to name but a few. Why do I need to pay the state for permission to buy a slurpee from 7-11?

Regulations limiting choice such as licenses regulating a plethora of industries that inhibit competition and new start ups, personal permits to build or modify a house, the need of personal licensing and sanction of the state to perform most services nowadays. You can’t cut hair without a license. You cannot clean fish without a license. You cannot wait tables without getting the proper credentials. God forbid you sell medicinal products or lemonade to your neighbors. This is not counting any of the “professional” services that require much more interaction with the state and the bureaucracy. Almost all interactions between consenting adults is now scrutinized by government.

And the pursuit of Happiness- Your “happiness” is highly taxed and regulated. Property taxes are one of the biggest offenders. Who owns your house when you “pay it off”? Don’t pay property tax for a few years and you will know the real answer to that question. Who owns the fruit of your labors? Depends really on what tax bracket you are in and the tax structure of the state you live in. A confiscatory tax structure is the norm and it is NOT the price for civilization. It is theft and corruption for the most part just like paying for the privilege of living in the United States and its use of of a death tax- i.e. the inheritance tax. Why should the government have any claim to the after tax fruits of your labor?

And the money we use. The fiat currency that has lost over 80% of its value since we were taken off the international gold standard in 1971 by Nixon has made it much harder for people to pursue their happiness. It used to be the norm that many families had one worker in the family and without a college diploma make enough money to buy a house, raise kids and retire in the future. The American Dream is a pipe dream for more and more people. Government is the problem, not the solution.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men- Governments are now mommy and daddy. They tell us in specific terms how we are to live our lives and have penalties for those of us who dare disobey. Rights are what the government tells you they are. Even the most basic rights are subject to interpretation. Bake the cake. 1st Amendment zones. Gun free zones. Marriage. NSA spying, etc…..

Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed- Nowadays government makes it up as they go along and most people applaud it. The Constitution is ignored most of the time. People demand that legislative bodies that “do nothing” are bad and the measure of success for them is passing laws. The abuses of government abound. Put it in this perspective- picture your neighbor doing the job that government has taken on. Can you neighbor tell you that you must pay him or her to install a pool? Can your neighbor can tell you what food you are allowed to buy? Can they dictate what drugs you put into your body? How about the size of your toilet or type of light bulb you can use? Can they demand that you pay them a little money every time you buy something? If we the people do not have that power, then why can “government” have that power?

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it– Let’s remember the lessons of the Civil War. A president went against this very concept and more Americans died in the ensuing war than any other time in our history. States rights is a bad term to many people even though it is the basis of our republic. “Government is what it is and politicians are going to lie to us. So what?”. That attitude and expectation must be changed for us to survive as a nation.

Our founding principles detailed in the Declaration of Independence were revolutionary at the time and were paid for with blood and lives. Over the decades we have allowed our government to grow beyond it purpose. Dangerously so. We are a nation of laws and as we move away from that concept and accept the opinions of our fellow man as law we ignore the lessons of history and allow tyranny to gain a foothold.

Even with all of the challenged we face, our life as Americans is superior to most and definitely better than our ancestors experienced. Our perceived prosperity masks our trajectory as a nation and its unsustainable course. It is very important we realize in which direction this country is moving in. It is not in the direction of liberty nor prosperity.

We the people of the United States of America cannot continue to ignore the lawlessness of our federal government. The Constitution is just not a good idea, it is the law! Our founding and the nation it produced was a miracle. We have it within our power to peaceably turn this around and make the changes needed to maintain our sovereignty as a nation.

Ignorance is an enemy. Apathy is another. The constant program of demoralization we face as a people needs to be attacked head on. We DO have the power to make the necessary changes. We the people DO have the power to right America and return her to the proper path.

The Constitution IS America

THE reason that we have had the most prosperous and free country to ever grace the face of the earth is because of our Constitution. It was a revolutionary document which allowed the people to rule themselves by creating a federal government of specific enumerated powers. It formalized a way for government to be replaced regularly without the use of violence. Many others living outside of America when the Constitution was ratified had running bets as to how long the republic would last. We beat the odds and became the beacon of freedom for the world. The Constitution literally created The United States of America.

When we turn our backs on the Constitution we turn our backs on our country. If we allow the Constitution to be attacked we allow America to be degraded. We have a wildly out of control federal government that ignores the laws with impunity and tells us everything is all right. We the people have become complacent and through ignorance have allowed our creation to be our ruler. Government is a force. It needs to be constrained. It is much like fire. It can do many good things but left unattended it can harm and kill. Washington DC is out of control and unless we shackle the beast we will witness the dissolution of our country. Yes, it can happen here. We are not immune from the ravages of historical fact.

The ignorance about the “Law of the Land” is agonizing to witness. The Constitution is a relatively short document and can easily be read in under an hour. Most have not done so. It becomes apparent when interacting with them. Understand this: The Constitution is indeed the law of the land. NO local ordinance, federal regulation, executive order, treaty, state law, federal law, opinion or any other utterance by elected officials has superiority to what is written in the Constitution.

If anything coming out of any government is in defiance of the clear and precise language of the Constitution of the United States it is by definition unconstitutional and void of relevance. That includes any branch of the federal government including the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court does not make law. They issue opinions. They also are humans and make mistakes and have human failings which make them fallible. The Supreme Court was created by the Constitution and to think they are the final arbiters of what is constitutional is another fallacy that needs to be dispelled if we are to remain a free nation. If you think that the Supreme Court is the final arbiter of what is constitutional then you give the federal government unlimited power to do what it wants which is exactly what we have been witnessing. It must end.

Realize that there are enemies to our country who live among us. They are working toward a socialist form of government which is diametrically opposed to freedom and what this country was founded upon. They continually push for bigger and more intrusive government in out lives. They dismiss the Constitution as an outdated document that needs to be rewritten, replaced or just ignored.

What is most unfortunate is that through patriot’s inaction we have allowed a whole generation of Americans to be taught of the faults of this country and none of the grandeur we have accomplished. Our country had been reduced to slavery and oppression in the eyes of many. We have to date lost the battle of education. That must also change for us to survive as a free nation.

George Washington said it best :

A primary object should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country? ”

No truer words have been spoken and the enemies of our country HAVE learned this lesson. We need to support the truth and educate our children in this truth. We cannot rely on the schools to do this. We need to take this task to heart and act accordingly.

It is up to YOU to do something. No one else is going to do your job for you. I realize the teachings of history. The majority is not who makes changes. Changes come when a minority of the people with a majority of the will demands and makes the change. The rest of the people just follow along. It is unfortunate but it is the truth. I am talking to a small minority of people, probably in the 3% range. We must make the changes needed for our country to survive. Make no mistake, I am talking about our survival here. We are moving toward a precipice that will engulf us in tyranny and end our nation as we know it.

So what can you do? First get educated. Do not rely on others to tell you what is in the Constitution. Read and study it yourself. There are many resources to get this knowledge. KrisAnne Hall is a person that has never lead me astray and a person whose writings and words I highly recommend. Reject the idea that the Constitution is a “living” document or it is irrelevant in our modern times. Those two arguments are easily dispelled by the educated person.

The Constitution is a compact between sovereign states to create a federal government. Compact means contract. This “contract” is still in force and is still as relevant as when it was written. It has a specific meaning and its interpretation is not subject to modern day ideals.”

Use as much original documentation as you can find for this education. The Federalist Papers, historical writings between our founders and the actual document are all you need to be way ahead of most people when it comes to understanding the meaning and relevance of the Constitution. Read about the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Madison, Jefferson, Hamilton, Jay. Martin, Henry, Adams, Washington, and others of the era depict exactly what our Constitution is all about. I say use original documents because there is plenty out there which is written on the subject and is not accurate of the true meaning of the Constitution. Most Americans have been lied to about what is contained in our founding document. Education is the cornerstone of liberty.

When you do get educated spread the truth far and wide. Liberty lives in the hearts of man and can be rekindled by support of the idea. Speak boldly. Speak the truth. Inspire others to do the same. As things get worse in our country more people start questioning the status quo and want answers. Be able to give them the correct answers. This will lead to a better understanding of the principles this country was founded upon and lead to better results in all things. With a proper education we can identify the true problems in this country and take effective action to combat those problems. Candidates who understand the Constitution will gain more support and we can start to populate our local and state governments with patriots and statesmen once again. The conversation of the day will once more turn to politics and through this dialogue we will find liberty.

Understand what is at stake. We have been left the most precious present ever to be bequeathed to a people-liberty. It was  gained by the blood and suffering of many before us and are obligated to pass that down to future generations. Our country was a true miracle in its birth. So many things were against us yet we pushed through them and became a nation. Miracles do not happen with regularity. That is why they are a miracle. Do not forsake that miracle because you depended on someone else to do the work. YOU are part of the solution. Not anyone else. Do not doom our children and countless millions of others to follow to have to fight and die once again for something that we let slip away.
