Voting for Tyranny

In the first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump one thing became clear- neither is right for occupying the White House. How can either be the right choice when both oppose the Constitution? How can they take the oath to office without the Bible bursting into flames?

Hillary made a remark supporting the idea that people on no fly lists should not be able to purchase a gun. She attacked and repudiated the 2nd Amendment and the 5th Amendment to our Constitution with that simple statement. Then Trump agreed with her.

Understand what is at stake. They both agree that a secret list compiled by someone in government is enough to eliminate your right to keep and bear arms. We have this ideal in America that due process is important. That to circumscribe someone’s rights there is a process in place that must be followed to insure that our rights are protected. The 5th Amendment covers this explicitly.

“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

How can the government legally determine that a person’s rights are negated without due process? It is the law of the land! How can they ignore that?

The government was NEVER tasked with determining if someone is guilty of a crime. That is why we have juries. Article 2 of the Constitution, the 5th, 6th and 7th Amendments all describe rights which we as Americans have that the government cannot ignore or infringe upon. A trial by jury is an inherent right under Common law and our Constitution. It is very simple. Government was never trusted to convict a citizen. That right was reserved for fellow Americans.

The 2nd Amendment is equally as clear. It states that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It doesn’t give us that right. Our rights come from our creator and our government was instituted to protect our rights. It merely states one of our inalienable rights which the government cannot infringe.

I don’t know about you but to me the Bill of Rights is very important. Taking a position against anything contained in them is a deal breaker. If you feel the need to vote for Trump or Clinton, realize that you vote against the 2nd Amendment. You also encourage and support the ever increasing police state in which we live. This is not the path toward liberty. It is the status quo which is an ever increasingly large government whose unconstitutional interference into our daily lives escalates everyday. Say no to this insanity. Do not vote for either of these two charlatans. You nation depends on you to make the right decision.

Constitutional Cappuccino- The 2016 Elections Part 1

Here is my latest podcast. I discuss the 2016 election process from a constitutional view. I talk about the continuing fear campaigns being waged by Trump and Clinton and how emerging parties like the Libertarians and the Constitution Party are important to the long term viability of our republic.

The Race to the Bottom- The 2016 Presidential Election

What we are seeing is a race to the bottom in the 2016 presidential election. All sides are using fear of their opponents to motivate people to vote for them. I have previously written about this and the theory is standing the test of time.

There is a reason for this. None of the candidates- Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, nor Harry Brown are the best nor brightest of their parties. Just the opposite is the case. What we will see is a continuing program of smearing the candidates because there is little to say in actual support of these nominees.

Donald Trump. He is a serial liar. That is easy to prove. He was a self proclaimed New York liberal for the majority of his life and suddenly saw the light and became a Republican. He has no record to run on that supports his current stances. Sure, he SAYS some good things but contradictions can be found on all of his positions- illegal immigration and the wall, taxes, the 2nd Amendment, support for Hillary, Obamacare and single payer health care. The list is extensive. He cannot be trusted by anyone who does even a modicum of research. What is becoming apparent and will really be expanded on is his shady past. He has to win the nomination before the torrent is turned on,  but after that the 100’s of reporters doing their work will report on his history. His previous life will be laid bare and it will not be a pretty picture. Remember, all the media has to do is paint a picture that this greedy capitalist homophobic racist warmonger will destroy the country. They have only to make Bernie  and Hillary supporters believe that. That is the winning path for Hillary.

Hillary Clinton. 40+ years of lying and corruption surround her. There are people voting who weren’t even conceived while Hillary was perfecting her craft of lying and corruption. From her initial participation in the Watergate investigation in the early 70’s and subsequent expulsion for unethical behavior to her most recent dodging of an indictment in her handling of sensitive materials on an unsecured e-mail server- her record as an elected official and public servant is abysmal. She has accomplished nothing of significance in her time in office. She sponsored some inconsequential legislation as a Senator in New York and had a horrible record in the State Department. Her involvement in Benghazi and the deaths there, 6 Billion dollars missing, the sale of Uranium to Russia, the Iran Nuke Deal, and her support of the Arab “Spring” which have all had horrible repercussions. She also has little to give supporters as a reason to support her. Sure she is a woman. So was Lizzy Borden. So was Typhoid Mary.

Harry Brown. He is the best in the crowd and does have some actual success in an executive position as Governor of New Mexico. Yet he too has slipped into the “A vote for Johnson is a vote against Hillary and Trump. How can it get any better?” He is not a good example of a Libertarian. The principled supporter finds it hard to support him in some of his positions. His stance on government intrusion into business affairs is astounding to see. He stated that the intentions of a baker in withholding their services matters to as whether the government comes in and forces the baking of the cake. I cannot believe a Libertarian said that. He calls for the force of government being used to make a baker bake a cake under certain politically correct circumstances. Pretty disturbing to the principled libertarian. His stance on immigration is NOT the mainstream view in the Libertarian Party. That is the Libertopian stance that is a minority with a loud voice that is being amplified by the media. One thing the media downplays or simply does not report on is the elimination of all government subsidies to immigrants in most of these “open border” scenarios. Lastly, his recent support of Hillary concerning her e-mail scandal made no sense. Listen to his comments on the matter. He doesn’t want to be a ‘stone thrower” and thinks it wasn’t her “intent” to commit a crime. Johnson has some good ideas on limiting government and instead of espousing in explicit terms what needs to be done he descends into the media dialogue and the story they want to tell. He gives little for the principled conservative or libertarian to support.

Bottom line: What we are going to continue to see is a tearing down of the candidates by their opponents and little for supporters to actually support. These attacks will continue with the opponents painted to look like a nation threatening despot. In the case of Johnson, the idea of a wasted vote or the idea that voting for him is actually a vote for Hillary/Trump will be pushed.. Just more fear tactics. This fear will be supported on all sides by the continuous castigation of the candidates. Please realize that fear of an opponent is not a reason to vote for a candidate. You are not voting FOR someone, you are voting AGAINST someone else. That is why we are at the crossroads we are. Support someone. If you cannot find someone to support then write in someone. Your vote is only wasted if you don’t vote your conscience.

The Fear Campaign(s)

Originally this was going to be a prediction about the upcoming 2016 Presidential election. After thinking about the topic and seeing a specific story on my FB feed, I decided my topic was too narrow and didn’t reflect the truth of the matter. Let me explain.

My original idea for this article was that the 2016 election cycle’s theme is fear. We already see it. The right is telling their followers that if you don’t vote for Trump then it is a vote for Hillary and another 8 years of Obama’s policies. On the left, you see the fear card being played and the dialogue of vote for Hillary or you get an out of his mind racist demagogue which will be the destroyer of the United States.

This cycle can go no other way. Hillary has NO accomplishments to tout when it comes to her time in office. Her tenure as a Senator and Secretary of State is inconsequential at best and tainted at worst. Her constant trail of lies and hypocrisy follows her everywhere she goes.

Trump also has a lot of skeletons in his closet. During the primaries the research into Trump’s past was limited. Now we are seeing that scrutiny ramping up. Expect after he gets the nomination (a lot of republicans are trying to block this but that is another story) that this news will be strategically released to  damage his reputation and his campaign.

There is no way to support either of these candidates. Hillary the Incompetent. Trump the Untrustworthy. Hillary the Liar. Trump the Hater. Hillary the Hypocrite. Trump the Hypocrite. You must attack the opponent and pull them down thus raising your candidate up in comparison. There is NO touting your own candidate this year if you are a Republican or Democrat. Welcome to the status quo and the consequences of idiocy.

Then I was exposed to an article that stated that the FDA recommends that eating raw cookie dough is dangerous because of e.coli contamination possibilities and should not be performed. The article was fairly dramatic and highly repulsive on many levels.

Escherichia coli is not the end all be all of death. Far from it. Humans have e.coli living in their intestine and it allows humans to metabolize vitamin K. Without it humans would be in trouble. Realize that bacteria are ubiquitous. 99.9% of bacteria killed means millions of bacteria left behind. People are exposed to bacteria every day of their lives. It is a natural thing. But what we hear is how people die when they ingest e. coli when in fact everyone you know has already been infected with e.coli and they are fine.

The article is just a symptom of a bigger campaign. A campaign of fear. We the people are being manipulated by a huge campaign of fear. The failing hoax of man made global climate warming change. Fear of a future catastrophe due to man’s evil prosperity. Preserve the Parks (an advertisement I just listened to on the radio) which states we have to save the parks before we don’t have any “natural” places to visit. The fear of man destroying his planet. The push for gun control after any shooting. Fear of gun violence. Ebola which fizzled but now we have Zika to the rescue to keep us scared about a virus that is “dangerous”. Fear of the unseen. “Stormcenter” Storm tracking of “severe” weather. Fear of nature. The “war on terrorism” is based entirely on fear. The “war on drugs” is also. Think about your life and what the media is telling you about it. What isn’t dangerous to you or your family nowadays?

George Carlin made a joke about this which exemplifies this phenomena. He stated that doctors have determined that saliva causes cancer. But only when swallowed in small amounts over very long periods of time. He was a very insightful man on many accounts.

Don’t let fear rule your life. Don’t let fear determine your vote. If the reason that you are voting for your candidate is our of a fear of the opponent then rethink your vote. No matter how you define this action it represents fear not support. Find a candidate you can support. Two popular third party candidates are Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party and Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party. Take a look at their candidacies here https://johnsonweld.com/ and http://castle2016.com/.

Voting your conscience IS the right way to proceed. The two party is stifling representation of the people and needs to be broken. Voting a third party candidate this cycle is needed and has been needed for a while. The problems in the United States are not new nor are they a new creation. Our modern day problem of an out of control federal government began over a century ago. There is no quick fix. Their is a move back toward constitutional limited government and liberty. Our Founding Fathers were not a fan of “parties” but realized they were inevitable. What would have appalled them seeing what is happening today is there are only two parties. In there opinion and in truth 300+ million people cannot be represented by just 2 parties. Fear is keeping the 3rd party movement down. Fear of a wasted vote. Fear of continued failure. Fear of letting the opponent win. This fear is self fulfilling. Do not succumb.

Bottom line: We the people have allowed fear to drive us for too long. Wherever you see fear tactics, the solution is inevitably more government created to “help” us. If you cannot be “for” something then don’t support it. Do not succumb to fear and allow that fear to cloud your judgement and make further bad choices. There are always options. Educate yourself and make good choices based on knowledge. Come back to the home of the free and land of the brave. God Bless America.

Thank-You Ted Cruz

I was drafting an article asking Ted  Cruz to consider dropping out, but he beat me to the punch. Kudos to you sir. You have made a wise and great long-term decision. It was the right and upstanding thing to do.

I was going to point out that even if there was a contested convention and Cruz had the numbers to take the nomination in the 4th or 5th round, the resulting tumult would be horrendous. No matter how a contested or a brokered convention played out, Cruz would have been the scapegoat for any ills experienced by Trump later on if he lost or would have too much bad will to win the general election himself. Cruz’ decision to drop out after a loss in Indiana is huge for his long term success.

I was going to point out that dropping out early enough so Trump could get the 1237 number would absolve Cruz of any culpability concerning establishment tricks during the convention. This, in my opinion, was crucial to the long term viability of Cruz as a presidential candidate. The establishment has been coming to the Cruz camp as of late and it is nice to see that he would rather abandon his run then get cozy with them.

I was going to further point out that Ted Cruz has a job in Texas for as long as he wants. His support has only grown since he made this run.  Cruz has run a fine race against the odds and did very well. 2020 will be a great year for conservatism and the Constitution. Four more years of people actually seeing Cruz in action on the Senate floor will consolidate many who were doubters.  Getting out now also avoids any ambiguity as to his involvement in a Trump loss.

And this brings me to the Dark Side of the equation. The inevitable Trump loss. A Hillary presidency is virtually guaranteed at this point.  If she can dodge indictment and actually close the deal against Sanders (which mathematically seems inevitable) there will be another Clinton in the White House. Trumpsters were warned. Hillary has a base of supporters who do not care that she is a liar and political hack. They do not care about her long list of scandals and lack of accomplishments. She is a democrat, she is a woman, she is their pick. End of story.

Unfortunately for Trump the republican side does have some principled people. They do care about their candidate’s character. Many will not vote for Trump. They are done with the lesser of two evils. At best Trump is another big government progressive. At worst he is there to give Hillary the nomination. Either way he will get only lukewarm support from the conservative base which will mean a huge loss for him. HUGE!

The hit pieces against Trump will start slowly but ramp up in intensity and frequency as we get closer to election time. People will be brought forward who have personal stories of how Trump and his actions harmed them. The democratic support Trump has been enjoying will evaporate as he is attacked. Not that some of them were true Trump supporters anyway. Many were just there to support the weakest of the republican candidates to get their candidate Hillary into office. They did some fine work.

Bottom line: it is past time that Americans understood the Constitution and how it has been perverted. I supported Ted Cruz because he supported my ideals- a limited constitutional government. We could have done it the easier way with a Cruz presidency. We have chosen to do it the hard way. It is time that people realize that government are formed among men to protect their rights, and that government gets their power from the consent of the governed. It is time people realize how outside of the constitutional box Washington DC has forayed and demand changes. Their is ONE reason that this country has been as prosperous and free as it has- it is called the Constitution and Bill of Rights. As we move away from those ideals we see the results.

Washington is not going to voluntarily give up its power. President’s do NOT make law. The Supreme Court issues OPINIONS, not law. The ONLY body allowed to make law is Congress. And they have severe restrictions as to what they can deal with. The administrative bureaucracy we have created where legislative, executive and judicial power is vested in individual organizations needs to be dismantled. A separation of powers must be adhered to. States rights and a proper relationship between the federal and state governments needs to be re-established. This is on the People of the United States of America. It is time we hold our officials feet to the fire and demand constitutional accountability. Washington is not going to fix itself. It will take local and state officials, working in their official capacities to protect the rights of the citizens of their states from Washington, DC, to make the changes needed to continue this country’s unparalleled ascent into freedom and prosperity. God bless America.
